The south-central province of Quang Nam is focused on promoting information on digital transformation, and is determined to be among the top performers in the country in implementing it.
Pham Hong Quang, director of Quang Nam Department of Information and Communications, said, “Our Party and state attach great importance to digital transformation and consider it one of the key tasks to be implemented from the central level to grassroots level.”
The issue, Quang said, is the need to diversify how people access digital transformation quickly and most effectively.
The province has issued a programme on administrative reform and digital transformation on television, for the second year in a row.
Over 1,000 community teams have been providing information on the digital transitionThis year, the organising committee expanded the scheme to include members of community digital technology teams in districts, towns, and cities in the province.
“Through this, we hope to contribute to equipping more skills and knowledge for this force to further promote propaganda work at the grassroots level,” Quang said.
As of the second quarter of 2024, Quang Nam had over 1,200 community digital technology teams with over 7,000 members. Each community digital technology team has at least five people, including members of youth union, women’s union, and farmers’ union branches.
The provincial community digital technology team has visited citizens to guide them about digital transformation, providing information on basic skills such as accessing and using the internet, email, and online public services.
They have also offered instructions on installing and using the province’s shared platform, the Online Public Service Portal, digital utilities, online payment and e-commerce, information security, and protecting personal information on the internet.
“We also hope to spread this initiative to the entire country to contribute to the success of building digital citizens and a digital society in Vietnam,” Quang said.
Quang Nam People’s Committee has been enhancing the capacity of state management and law enforcement on digital transformation from central to local levels. The specific goal by the end of 2025 was to complete the organisational structure of the specialised unit on IT; and increase the allocation of staff to meet the requirements of implementing new tasks and solutions on digital transformation.
All departments, agencies, sectors, and people’s committees are also focused on arranging departments or focal points to implement tasks and solutions for digital transformation at agencies and units; and digital platforms and toolkits for state management and law enforcement have been introduced.
By 2030 the province wants a digital transformation network that operates effectively and is coordinated synchronously in implementing national solutions.
Quang Nam strives to have all of the workforce performing digital transformation tasks to receive annual training to meet the requirements of state management and law enforcement on digital transformation; focus on reviewing and supplementing their tasks and powers; arrange departments to perform related tasks at agencies and units; and more, according to the guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications and central agencies.
