Gamuda Land, the urban architect from Malaysia, has been recognised as one of the top 10 sustainably developing foreign companies in Vietnam and received the prestigious Golden Dragon Award.
The Golden Dragon Awards are among the most prestigious business awards held annually since 2001, jointly organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and VnEconomy. The award aims to honour the positive contributions of outstanding overseas-invested companies (FIE) that promote green growth and sustainable development for local communities and the Vietnamese economy.
Overcoming more than 600 heavyweight competitors and undergoing two rounds of rigorous selection, Gamuda Land was honoured as one of the 10 leading sustainably developing FIEs in Vietnam. The town-maker from Malaysia is one of the most prominent names in the country's real estate market, known for its efforts and dedication to creating green international-standard townships, along with a business growth strategy that goes hand-in-hand with sustainable development.
Angus Liew, general director of Gamuda Land said, “This prestigious award is a great honour for us. Sustainable development is always the main philosophy when we implement any project. We always strive to create lasting values, improve the quality of life for the community, and contribute to the development of the country. Gamuda Land has long considered Vietnam as a second home next to the motherland of Malaysia, with a commitment to long-term development in this beautiful country, we will continue to invest strong resources to expand our business activities.”
Entering the Vietnamese market in 2007, Gamuda Land has created two world-class townships, which are Gamuda City with a scale of 274 hectares in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi, and Celadon City with an area of 82ha in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City.
After more than a decade of successes in Vietnam’s real estate market, the town-maker from Malaysia continues expanding its business size by finding new land to develop township projects.
Gamuda Land is one of the pioneering real estate companies in compliance with environmental, social, and governance factors and a sustainable development strategy. A typical example is the Gamuda Green Plan, which establishes a comprehensive roadmap and is applied to all projects globally. The plan's objective is to reduce direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions by 45 per cent in 2030.
Gamuda Land is also a prominent name in corporate social responsibility activities. Besides the charitable programme Run For The Heart during the peak period of the pandemic, Gamuda Land has also implemented the GLCares programme – a series of practical social responsibility activities to accompany Ho Chi Minh City to overcome the pandemic.
It is estimated that the total support value of the GL Cares programme to date is more than $130,000). The target audience of the programme is broad, from frontline anti-pandemic forces to the weakest sections of society.
