The event brought together industry experts, influencers, and decision makers to discuss the nation's strides in digitalisation and technological innovation, and revolutionising its entire supply chain in aviation, aerospace, and defence.

This sector has seen an influx of interest from investors from around the world, including Dassault Systèmes’ home-base of France, with Airbus notably renewing its commitment to the country late in 2023.

“From design to manufacturing, digitalisation has optimized processes, enhancing efficiency and competitiveness. Cutting-edge technologies such as model-based systems engineering, virtual twin technologies, and AI-driven analytics will propel Vietnam's aerospace and defence industry into the 21st century, fostering a dynamic ecosystem for growth,” Ding Ming Chee, Asia Pacific South senior sales director for Dassault Systèmes, said.

Topics covered included the impact of digitalisation and new technologies, including virtual twin technologies for factories of the future to accelerate innovation and optimise operations.

According to deputy director of NIC Vo Xuan Hoai, in today’s rapidly evolving landscape, driven by digitalisation and cutting-edge technologies, recognising the critical role of innovation in enhancing design and manufacturing capabilities is essential.

"NIC is dedicated to furthering investment in research and development, and collaborating closely with businesses, researchers, and international partners to foster sustainable innovation in this sector. Our goal is to serve as a conduit between stakeholders, promoting robust and effective collaboration for all parties involved,” Hoai noted.

Dassault Systèmes, which opened its Hanoi office two years ago, also took the opportunity to announce a new partnership with KMTC, which will see the local systems integrator spearhead digital transformation in Vietnam’s aerospace manufacturing sector.

“We, not only the Kami team, but also the domestic manufacturing and supply chain community, recognise this partnership as a harmonic combination of our local know-how and expertise in Vietnam’s aerospace and defence sector with Dassault Systèmes’ wealth of global experience and acclaimed technology solutions. These are all designed to improve the competitiveness of Vietnamese components manufacturers to meet the modern needs of the aerospace industry, and from that, to foster the innovation of the new digital economy of the whole country,”chairman of KAMI Manufacturing Technology Corporation Louis Cao said.
