The information was shared by Zhengjun Zhang, vice president of Huawei Asia-Pacific, at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on May 15.

Zhang said that Huawei's global revenue reached $99.4 billion last year and is expected to surpass the $100 billion mark in 2024. In the first quarter, Huawei posted revenue of $25.2 billion.

In addition, Huawei has spent $23.2 billion on research and development, making up over 23 per cent of its total revenue in 2023, helping the group to lead the world in 5G network development, AI, data centres, and digital capabilities.

Huawei is also working with Vietnamese partners to research and deploy the first-ever 5G innovation centre in Vietnam. The centre will introduce testing standards, feature lab facilities, support workforce training, and serve as an incubator for the 5G ecosystem.
