According to information from the project's consulting firm Sytra, the testing process will be divided into two phases. In the first phase, the entire urban railway system will be operated under normal conditions to measure the RAMs factor.

RAMs is an engineering discipline that integrates reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety characteristics appropriate to the operational objectives of a railway system into the inherent product design property through railway systems engineering.

Hanoi People’s Committee has set a target to bring this railway route into operation late this year.

In the second phase, they will test the run in limited conditions with five scripts, such as sudden electricity loss to the total system, a fire at a randomly chosen station, and the use of a rescue train.

Hanoi People’s Committee has set a target to bring this railway route into operation late this year.

The project’s construction was kicked off in September 2010 and was scheduled to be completed in 2017. Due to significant construction delays, Hanoi People’s Committee then decided to extend the project deadline.

The project has a total investment capital of VND30.1 trillion ($1.3 billion), which comes from assistance from the French Development Agency and loans from the French Government.

Spanning 12.5km with 12 stations, the Nhon-Hanoi Station urban railway will run through six districts including Nam Tu Liem, Bac Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Ba Dinh, Dong Da, and Hoan Kiem.
