MPI and VINASME to educate Vietnamese SMEs

"Improving knowledge for Vietnamese SMEs" aims to promote the implementation of a Politburo resolution on building and promoting the role of Vietnamese entrepreneurs.

The training will be conducted on the www.smelearning.vn platform to drive Vietnamese SMEs towards effective and sustainable operations. The course will provide a convenient learning environment for SMEs to gradually adopt a "learning enterprise" philosophy.

The project will be implemented nationwide from 2024-2035, with the goal of holding 1,000 courses by 2025 and about 5,000 courses by 2035. About 1.5 million businesses nationwide will have access to free and quality courses with a clear roadmap and development stages. More than 6,000 employees will be able to participate and benefit from the courses.

The courses will follow six stages of business development: business concept, business establishment, operations, growth, mature/stable development, and stock listing.

These will include directions on sales and marketing, capital and finance, and operations and corporate management. These pillars will be deployed in parallel with training courses to enhance skills, new ideas, experience, policy updates, and technology transfer, depending on the stage of development at each business. Participants will be provided with a free account to study.

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said the project will have a positive impact and enhance the quality of human resources.

"To get the most out of the project, I recommend ministries, agencies, localities, and associations encourage the business community to participate in the courses and improve levels of corporate governance," Dong highlighted.

He suggested VINASME proactively coordinate with the donor community and businesses to mobilise resources to implement the project and commitments made in the agreement.

Nguyen Van Than, VINASME chairman, said that the association has carefully surveyed the needs of member businesses, thereby offering detailed and specific programmes to meet various groups of businesses and industries. Businesses in need will be trained in market knowledge and connected directly with potential customers.

“With the coordination of the MPI, SMEs will have quick access to state policies and participate in policy direction from an early stage," Than said. "The project will convey the very important viewpoints and spirit of the Party and state to the business community in general and SMEs in particular, which are building, creating, developing, and protecting the country."
