National Australia Bank (NAB) opened a new office in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City on April 25 to support the growth of its investment in Vietnam and help to continue delivering great digital experiences for its customers.
Situated in the A+ grade Hallmark Building in Thu Duc city, the 8,500-square metre office will house hundreds of software developers, data scientists, digital designers, software engineers, and data analysts. With technology that enables a flexible, agile, and connected workplace, the new office also builds on NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam’s recognition as a ‘Great Place to Work’.
NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam’s general director Howard Silby said the new office would help to drive a great work environment and support a growing Vietnam team.
“This investment reflects our commitment to Vietnam and will help to make NAB an even greater place to work,” Silby said. “Our expansion will help NAB continue to attract the talented innovators needed to broaden our global workforce and bring more tech talent in-house.”
NAB’s continued investment in Vietnam solidifies its position as one of Australia’s largest private foreign investors in the country. The NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam is a great example of where commercial collaboration between Australia and Vietnam is having a meaningful impact.
Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew Goledzinowski said, “Australia and Vietnam have complementary interests in technology and digital transformation. NAB’s commitment to supporting local talent in Vietnam to pursue career opportunities in technology through this expansion is an excellent example of this commitment in practice.”
The new office design was inspired by Vietnamese cultural elements with different regional characteristics, from the bronze drum patterns symbolising the north to the architectural silhouettes of Ho Chi Minh City representing the south. It has been designed with abundant green spaces and provides modern accessibility for all staff.
The new office sits alongside NAB’s investment in upskilling and training programmes for staff, including FINSIA’s globally recognised Career Qualified in Banking Accreditation (CQiB), a Distinctive Leadership programme, and a wide range of cloud training courses through the NAB Cloud Guild, including the AWS She Builds CloudUp programme that is open to all staff. NAB Innovation Centre Vietnam is also committed to gender diversity and inclusion, with women holding 70 per cent of senior leadership roles and 20 per cent of NAB Vietnam’s overall talent being female, more than double the industry average.
