Panasonic Vietnam officially launched the campaign “Live Green and Wellness with Gen G” to inspire Vietnamese young people and all concerned to lead an environmentally-friendly and healthy lifestyle.

The campaign includes various online and offline activities aimed at promoting awareness, empowerment, and facilitating capacity building for Vietnamese youth, focused on the environment and global warming. The programme is accompanied by the Centre for Communication of Natural Resources and Environment under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and other partners such as the United Nations Development Programme, NGOs, and youth networks of the Central Youth Union.

The "Live Green and Wellness with Gen G" campaign is among various actions realising the group's commitment to the Panasonic Green Impact project, which was announced in January this year, in which CEO Yuki Kusumi firmly declared the group’s ambitious commitment to net zero by 2030.

“With Panasonic Green Impact, we see our pioneering role in tackling global warming issues through our business and CSR activities. This programme invites Vietnamese young people to join in 'GEN G'– our new concept of a Leading Green Generation," said Marukawa Yoichi, general director of Panasonic Vietnam. "I believe youngsters can be a driving force and an inspiration for society to generate a positive impact. And GEN G will be a new definition of a cool lifestyle for Vietnamese young people, full of energy, empowerment, knowledge and a skillset to act green and live well, not only for themselves but for the whole community and society."

Various stories and activities will be built around the campaign, which is expected to draw the attention of Gen Z. Along the process of participating in those activities, Gen Z will be a driving force of GEN G, and empowered to contribute to their community and Vietnam in general.

Through short but inspirational video clips, the journey of various Gen G ambassadors will be revealed to youngsters cheerfully and practically, which are expected to generate value for young people.

Another activity is a seven-day online challenge over the Tet holiday alongside various “Contribute to society” activities. Panasonic will collaborate with the the Centre for Communication of Natural Resources and Environment and other NGOs such as Live and Learn, and CFC, aiming to generate chances for young people to take action, especially during the Tet holiday, when people need to double their attention to the environment and wellness with issues such as trash collecting, protecting ponds and rivers, and healthy diets.

The Gen G Ambassador Programme is a meaningful playground for those keen to study deeper and propose their own initiatives addressing global warming and the environment. Youngsters can participate by registering their own initiatives, and they will be driven through a process of combined online training with field trips and offline training camps, with the support of Panasonic and experts in different fields to sharpen their knowledge and skill set. Panasonic will grant the best projects financial support to deliver real value to the community.

Accompanying the programme, Nguyen Viet Dung, director of the Centre for Communication of Natural Resources and Environment said, “This campaign of Panasonic continues to bring meaningful messages and activities to improve people's quality of life. Building community awareness, encouraging society to go green, is a great opportunity to help spread awareness about environmental protection and emissions reduction."

"We appreciate the practicality of the programme and Panasonic’s joint efforts with the government and the community to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam,” Dung added.

Panasonic has consistently carried out a number of initiatives in Vietnam in response to the government’s call to tackle climate change and to continue the journey “for a green Vietnam”. The programme also aims to contribute to Vietnam’s efforts to plant one billion trees nationwide, realising net zero CO2 emission of Vietnam by 2050, as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh declared at COP26 last year, and at the same time contributing to the 'Panasonic Green Impact' project.

In Vietnam, for the past few years, Panasonic has implemented various social responsibility programmes for the environment. It has devoted efforts to raising public awareness of environmental protection, such as organising environmental classes for local students, inspiring future generations through painting competitions, and the film-making programme Kid Witness News.

With such efforts and enthusiasm, the "Live Green and Wellness with Gen G" campaign will continue Panasonic’s mission and vision towards the “Panasonic Green Impact” projects and realise its vision of wellness and sustainability for Vietnam in the next 50 years.
