Phu Tho People's Committee and Amata VN PCL (Amata VN), the Vietnamese subsidiary of Thailand’s top industrial park developer Amata, signed an MoU in Hanoi on May 16 to establish a long-term and sustainable strategic cooperation relationship.
The event took place in the presence of Vietnam’s Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra, during the latter’s official visit to Vietnam from May 15-16.
This significant event underscores the commitment of both sides to promote investment, accelerate industrialisation and modernisation, and propel the northern province of Phu Tho’s socioeconomic development.
This landmark agreement signifies a mutual commitment to fostering a favourable investment environment in Phu Tho.
Under the terms of the MoU, Phu Tho pledges to provide maximum support to Amata VN, facilitating information gathering, streamlining administrative procedures, assisting with land clearance and resettlement, and promptly resolving any difficulties encountered during project implementation and operation.
Phu Tho People’s Committee will also closely coordinate with Amata VN in encouraging and attracting projects.
Leveraging its extensive experience, international reputation, and network, Amata VN is committed to supporting Phu Tho in enhancing local investment appeal to draw in investors from Thailand and around the world.
Amata VN plans to study and invest in key projects in Phu Tho in diverse fields, focusing on industrial park and urban areas, smart cities, logistics services, commerce, high-quality training and development centres, and environmental protection initiatives.
The collaboration aims to transform planned development areas into dynamic industrial parks, urban areas, and commercial service zones of international scale.
These developments will prioritise balancing economic and social progress with environmental sustainability, thereby enhancing the province's attractiveness to investors, residents, and tourists and contributing effectively to Phu Tho's overall development.
The MoU was signed by Bui Van Quang, Chairman of Phu Tho People's Committee, and Somhatai Panichewa, CEO of Amata VN.
Both parties have committed to developing concrete action plans and continuously exploring new areas for cooperation based on mutual potential and strengths.
Amata VN has been listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand since 2015 and serves as the strategic investment arm for all Vietnam operations of Amata Corporation, a major developer of integrated industrial cities and related infrastructure in Southeast Asia.
Amata Corporation currently hosts over 1,600 factories and commercial outlets, including numerous Global Fortune 500 operations, across its developments in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar.
