On October 27, National Power Transmission Corporation and the Central Power Projects Management Board (CPMB) had a meeting with management authorities in Ky Anh town, Ha Tinh province, to review the site clearance results at power transmission projects.
Nguyen Duc Tuyen, the CPMB's director, noted that Ky Anh town currently accommodates a 500kV Quang Trach-Vung Ang power transmission line, 220kV Vung Ang power transformer station, and an associated connection.
The bodies are also about to invest in two 500kV transmission lines connecting Quang Trach and Quynh Luu, as well as Vung Ang, Ha Tinh, and Danang.

A recent field survey, however, showed that 24 local households have yet to totally remove the associated line safety corridor.
The CPMB has therefore proposed Ky Anh People’s Committee to direct the town compensation council to join efforts with relevant units working on convincing relevant households to relocate from the project site.

The project is urgent for implementation as it will directly supply power to Ky Anh town, Vung Ang Economic Zone, and the Vines battery plant of VinFast.
The Ky Anh Compensation Council has worked with related local households to facilitate the project pace.
As of now, Ky Anh compensation council has yet to fulfill compensation plan for space acquisition to build the 220kV Vung Ang transformer station for submission as several local households still disagree with compensation rate.
More drastic sanction measures neededAt the aforesaid meeting with power unit executives and Ky Anh town’s leaders, Pham Le Phu, general director of National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), noted that Ha Tinh holds crucial positions in the North-South power transmission system.
"Therefore, to ensure power security for the nation, and Ha Tinh particularly, EVNNPT will continue to invest in many other power transmission projects in the area and mandate more drastic measures from local authorities to push up the project progress," Phu said.
For instance, regarding 220kV Vung Ang transformer station and associated 220kV transmission line, EVNNPT requires Ky Anh People’s Committee to urge the town compensation council to soon finalise space compensation plan for submission and approval, from there compensating affected households.
Making asset inventory for related households involving 220kV transmission line project must be completed this November.
At the meeting, Ky Anh leaders praised the cooperation between EVNNPT, CPMB, and local management agencies to address impediments during the whole process of implementing the 500kV Vung Ang-Quang Trach transmission line project.
Regarding the 22kV Vung Anh transformer station and associated line, Ky Anh leaders proposed EVNNPT and CPMB to work closely with local management agencies to come up with compensation and site clearance work, ensuring the project pace.
