The Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation, under the Vietnam Blockchain Association, aims to provide training and promote the adoption of blockchain and AI technologies to one million individuals by 2030, including 100,000 students from 30 universities in Vietnam.
During the second anniversary celebration and the annual forum “Blockchain and AI: The Revolution of the Future” on April 24, the Vietnam Blockchain Association officially launched the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation (ABAII).
The academy consists of a board of directors with seven members, a scientific council with 14 members who are leading experts in the fields of blockchain and AI, and an executive committee with five members representing all three regions of Vietnam — north, central, and south.
The ABAII aims to provide training and promote the adoption of blockchain and AI technologies to one million individuals by 2030, including 100,000 students from 30 universities nationwide. This will be achieved through various activities such as workshops, training programmes, hackathons, ideathons, the Unitour 2024 programme specifically designed for students, as well as an online project to provide legal advice to the community.
By the end of April 2024, in just under two months, Unitour has successfully been organised at five universities, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Hutech), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Danang Architecture University (DAU), Banking Academy (BA), and Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT). Unitour has provided valuable knowledge about the applications of blockchain and AI according to the specific needs and desires of each university, such as the digital economy and finance, banking data analysis, and career opportunities.
At the inauguration ceremony, the ABAII presented representatives from Foreign Trade University, Banking Academy, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Danang Architecture University, and Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology with 50 scholarships each to gradually promote and accelerate the process of blockchain-AI adoption and accessibility.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Hoang Giang highly appreciated the efforts of ABAII, specifically, and the Vietnam Blockchain Association, in general, in the process of policy consultation and promotion of blockchain and AI education and accessibility.
According to Giang, education is a fundamental and decisive factor in the development of a nation. Therefore, the decision of the Vietnam Blockchain Association and ABAII to focus on promoting the widespread adoption of blockchain and AI is considered a wise and humanitarian choice, clearly demonstrating their commitment to sustainable development goals.
“Although blockchain and AI technologies are still new and face many challenges in Vietnam, I believe that with high determination, the Vietnam Blockchain Association and ABAII will soon achieve this goal,” Giang emphasised.
According to Professor Hoang Van Huay, chairman of the Vietnam Blockchain Association and chairman of the Scientific Souncil at ABAII, “If blockchain is the greatest opportunity we can think of in the coming decade, then AI is the remarkable advancement of humankind, reshaping the future in unimaginable ways. Therefore, the mission of ABAII is to explore, develop, and integrate the extraordinary advantages of these two advanced technologies to promote the overall development of the country."
