Signify Vietnam has introduced two new solutions for the lighting industry, 3D printed lamps and Interact - IoT.

Signify Vietnam Co., Ltd., a subsidiary under Signify Group – a world leader in lighting – hosted a workshop with the title Connected Lighting Technology for Sustainable Development in Ho Chi Minh City during the week of October 31. At the workshop, Signify shared its remarkable business achievements in 2022 and new sustainable lighting technologies that could shape the future of the lighting industry.

Regarding agricultural lighting, Signify, in tandem with ShrimpVet – a high-quality shrimp seed production and research company – announced the results of a research collaboration on the impact of artificial light on the growth of farmed shrimp to launch Philips LED Aqua-lighting solution.

In the sector of residential lighting, in addition to expanding the product portfolio of EyeComfort lights and WiZ smart home lights, Signify launched a new lighting brand called EcoLink.

For specialized lighting, Signify launched a series of large-scale architectural and urban lighting projects using LED lights and the Interact smart connection platform.

The group impressed local media representatives with its innovative 3D-printed lighting solutions which have been developed with a circular economy in mind.

Signify’s 3D printed lamp technology allows customers to design the lamp’s style, colour, and material according to their needs. These items will then be produced by the 3D printing process on demand.

In this way, waste is reduced, stock holding is limited, transport costs are saved, and emissions from material supply and manufacturing are lowered. 3D printed luminaires offer a lower carbon alternative to conventional manufacturing.

Besides the 3D printed lamp, another new lighting solution introduced by Signify at the event was Interact - IoT. It is a highly secure and scalable cloud platform that collects, connects, monitors, and manages IoT lighting operations.

Signify has developed and integrated Interact into Philips LED lighting systems for smart cities, offices, factories, sports areas, and more, helping cities and businesses take advantage of smart lighting to improve the quality of light and reduce operating costs.

An Interact City system is estimated to save up to 80 per cent of energy consumption, improve 50 per cent of the city's lighting performance, and reduce blackouts due to problems to less than 1 per cent thanks to the ability to report errors and facilitate timely troubleshooting, reducing issues by up to 30 per cent and CO2 emissions by 80 per cent.

In 2021, the Signify Group's revenue reached $6.9 billion. The Group has a presence in more than 70 countries and territories around the world with approximately 37,000 employees. It has become a global leader in specialised, residential, and IoT lighting with famous brands such as Philips, WiZ, Ecolink, Hue, Interact, and others.

Since September 2020, Signify has achieved carbon neutrality for all its operations across the world and uses 100 per cent renewable electricity.

In February, the group launched the Philips Contractors Club for lighting distributors, agents, and contractors in Vietnam.

In September, Signify led the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment, an annual evaluation of companies' sustainability practices.
