Vietnam’s sustainable development ambitions will be helped along through an international trade event taking place in Hanoi this week, aiming to foster regional economic development and sustainability.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is set to host its Asia-Pacific Dialogue 2024 on May 28-29, promising to be a linchpin event this year at the JW Marriott Hotel. The conference aims to weave together human resource development, economic cooperation, and sustainable development, creating a cohesive strategy for regional unity and laying the groundwork for shared prosperity across the region.

In the context of ongoing global economic flux, marked by geopolitical unrest and evolving social paradigms, the event seeks to forge resilience and spearhead growth breakthroughs. By facilitating pivotal knowledge exchanges and nurturing strategic connections, the event is poised to sculpt a new narrative for the Asia-Pacific’s role on the global stage.

To Quoc Hung, ACCA country manager for Vietnam, emphasised the conference’s role as a catalyst for transformative economic and human resource development strategies.

“We are at a critical juncture where collaborative efforts and bold initiatives are essential to shaping a brighter, more sustainable future,” Hung said.

The conference theme, “Giao,” which draws inspiration from the sleeves of the traditional Vietnamese Giao Linh costume, encapsulates the spirit of interconnectedness and mutual growth that the event aims to promote.

The ACCA’s Asia-Pacific director Pulkit Abrol noted the critical role of advanced educational frameworks in the development of financial and accounting professionals.

“By integrating cutting-edge technology and fostering innovative educational practices, we can equip professionals to effectively lead in the face of emerging global challenges,” stated Abrol.

As the Asia-Pacific region continues to navigate the intricacies of a rapidly changing economic landscape, the ACCA Asia-Pacific Dialogue 2024 stands as a beacon of insight, collaboration, and forward-thinking strategies designed to empower leaders and educators across the region, Abrol added.

On May 28, the conference will discuss the potential from the perspective of a foreign powerhouse, redefining global trade, policy innovation for a green and digital Asia-Pacific, and sustainable growth through collaboration.

What is more, as human resources play an important role in growth, especially in a digital world, experts will highlight some of the challenges and opportunities coming from digitalisation advances; innovating in the transition from brown to green; and fuelling growth through talent transformation.

The ACCA Asia-Pacific Forum 2024 will be held on May 28-29 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Hanoi. Organised by the ACCA, the forum aims to address global economic, political, and social fluctuations by focusing on human resource development, economic promotion, and sustainable development.

The event seeks to build a unified strategy for shared prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region by fostering knowledge exchange and strategic relationships, challenging traditional views of the region’s global role.

The forum will receive attendance from government officials, corporate leaders, and experts from various fields, particularly from the Asia-Pacific region. Discussions will centre on promoting green and sustainable economic growth and the future of education through sustainable digital and technological innovations. Renowned speakers will provide insights on leveraging technology for regional trade and using AI in sustainable education.
