National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines opened direct flights between Nha Trang and Busan on June 1 as part of its international network expansion.
The launch event was organised by Vietnam Airlines in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province and related units, with the participation of representatives of authorised agencies, and aviation industry partners.

The Nha Trang – Busan route will be operated daily by Airbus A321 aircraft, contributing to the direct connection of two prominent coastal tourism centres of Vietnam and South Korea while opening up great opportunities to draw in South Korean tourists to Khanh Hoa and the Vietnamese south central region.
The opening of this new route is a strategic move by Vietnam Airlines to develop its international flight network, improve competitiveness, and partner with localities in reinvigorating the tourism industry.
Vietnam Airlines currently connects major tourism and economic centres in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Danang, and Nha Trang with Seoul and Busan, the two largest cities in South Korea.
On average, the airline operates 16 flights per day between the two countries. In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam Airlines transported approximately 479,500 passengers on its Vietnam – South Korea routes, demonstrating the strong growth in demand for travel, trade and tourism between the two countries.
South Korea was Vietnam's largest international tourist market last year with about 4.5 million visitors, accounting for about 26 per cent of the country’s total number of international visitors.
In Khanh Hoa, South Korean visitors account for nearly half of the total number of international visitors to the locality. In the first four months of this year, Khanh Hoa welcomed more than 812,800 South Korean visitors, an on-year increase of 6.5 per cent.

Air carriers in Vietnam escaped losses in the first months of 2025, driven by global expansion and strategic changes.

Vietnam Airlines is inviting proposals for the wet lease of one A320 or A321 aircraft, with delivery expected in June 2025.

National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines must follow a path of modern, green, sustainable and safe development and build a distinctive cultural identity rooted in the core cultural values of the Vietnamese nation.
