Viettel and Korea Telecom signed a deal on May 26 to accelerate AI transformation, enhancing Vietnam's technological competitiveness in the region.
Through this cooperation, the two sides will promote the development of AI solutions suitable for Vietnam's conditions, with expansion plans in the international market.

They will closely coordinate in developing and deploying digital technology platforms, AI ecosystems, and data infrastructure.
Having a pioneering role in the AI transformation process in Vietnam. In addition, Viettel aims to provide specialised AI transformation solutions for businesses and governments in order to modernise the national digital infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.
The two parties will jointly build a dedicated AI data centre and GPU server cluster. To enhance AI transformation capabilities, they will develop high-quality human resources, and expand training courses, contributing to the development of the future generation of AI experts for Vietnam.
Tao Duc Thang, chairman and general director of Viettel, said that the agreement marked the beginning of a strategic relationship between Viettel and KT.
“With KT’s pioneering technology and Viettel’s market insights, we believe we will bring modern, suitable solutions to Vietnam and the international markets where Viettel is investing in,” he added.
Kim Young Shub, chairman of KT Group, shared that Viettel is an ideal partner to realise the goal of comprehensive AI transformation. “Combining resources, we expect to contribute to making Vietnam and South Korea the world's leading countries in AI transformation and application," Shub said.

Viettel Global (VGI) achieved strong growth in consolidated revenue and profit last year, according to its 2024 audited consolidated financial report released on March 28.
