The groundbreaking ceremony of WHA Smart Technology Industrial Zone 1 – Thanh Hoa was one of four major works launched or inaugurated simultaneously on the day in the province to celebrate the 20th provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term
The group hosted the ceremony on October 14, underscoring its dedication to fostering innovation, sustainable development, and economic vitality in the central province of Thanh Hoa.
Spanning 540 hectares upon full completion, this cutting-edge, eco-friendly project boasts modern amenities and sustainable design. It offers unparalleled accessibility thanks to being situated just 12 km from Thanh Hoa city, 75 km from Nghi Son Port, and 49 km from Tho Xuan Airport.
Its proximity to key arteries such as the National Highway No.1A and the North-South Expressway ensures seamless links to Hanoi, Noi Bai International Airport, and Haiphong Port. Bolstered by WHA's investment in intelligent infrastructure, the industrial park (IP) delivers dependable utilities, advanced telecommunications, and robust security systems, creating an ideal environment for businesses to flourish.
"Along with available infrastructure advantages, we recognise the transformative potential of upcoming major initiatives in the province, including plans for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal and a gas power plant. These developments are pivotal in establishing a reliable power and electricity grid, enhancing energy availability across Thanh Hoa. This will significantly boost the area's appeal to foreign investors by ensuring stable power supply," said Pajongwit Pongsivapai, CEO of WHA Industrial Development Public Co., Ltd.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh spoke at the groundbreaking ceremony for the building of a primary and secondary boarding school in the mountainous border commune of Bat Mot
Phase 1, encompassing 178 hectares, is slated for handover to secondary investors by late 2025. The emphasis remains on delivering top-tier infrastructure and prime positioning to draw premier firms in high-tech sectors like electronics, electrical engineering, telecommunications, robotics, aerospace, photonics, and beyond. By pioneering advanced technologies and facilities, WHA is forging a synergy between innovation and environmental stewardship.
"We have long believed in the immense potential of this region, and amid today's global supply chain shifts, Vietnam, and Thanh Hoa in particular, are now perfectly positioned to capture a new wave of strategic FDI,” said Pajongwit Pongsivapai.
"Our sales teams are operating at full throttle, and we're already receiving encouraging responses from investors in Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and even Europe, including Germany. This momentum compels us to expedite onsite construction," he noted.
WHA has collaborated closely with Thanh Hoa authorities, benefiting from unwavering support throughout the master planning phase, investment certification, and beyond. The group anticipates completing key segments of Phase 1 by year's end, aligning with its accelerated construction timeline.
