China-based Play For Dream Technology, a leading spatial entertainment technology company, is going to expand in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam to tap into its growth potential.

At the launch of the world’s first Android-based spatial computer, Play for Dream MR, in Singapore on June 25, Huang Feng, founder and CEO of Play for Dream Technology, said that Singapore is one of the most innovative cities in the world and a preferred hub for many cutting-edge technology companies. We hope to embark on our global expansion from here and influence the Asia Pacific region over time. This region has the largest and youngest digital native population in the world, making it a critical starting point for our global strategy as we write a new chapter for our brand.

Talking to VIR about specific expansion plans, he said, “We would like to go into other Southeast Asia countries after Singapore, for example, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, as well as Japan. We tend to grow by three to five times a year.”

“We are benchmarked in our product against Asian Apple. So we think that similarly to the smartphone market, in the end game, there are around seven players globally. In addition to Apple and Samsung, there are also Chinese companies,” he added.

In Vietnam, there is growing demand for high-tech devices and products. Vietnam's sci-tech market depends mainly on technology supplied by developing countries. Domestic technology supply accounts for a low proportion. According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology,75 per cent of technology and equipment used by Vietnamese enterprises is imported.

Therefore, there are huge opportunities for foreign brands in the local market, especially in the context the country is accelerating digital transformation across industries, thus leading to increasing needs for technology products and solutions.
